One thing completely different in your subsequent gathering! Quick and tremendous straightforward to make, appears like one thing you’d get from a connoisseur deli however is tremendous low cost. This ticks all my “meals for events” bins!

Lemon Garlic Baked Ricotta - an exciting new appetizer idea! Easy, fast gourmet.

You recognize whenever you see a recipe for a quick, fabulous appetiser however whenever you learn the recipe, the substances price $30 involving issues like a fillet of untamed caught cedar smoked Alaskan salmon (don’t you dare consider getting lower than the most effective!) and 5 various kinds of herbs? I see recipes like that in connoisseur magazines and I so wish to be that type of one that can spend a small fortune to have the ability to make connoisseur meals quick.

However I’m not and by no means will likely be. I consider in and love high quality substances, particularly regionally grown produce I usually decide up at my native farmers’ market. And I’ll splurge on wild caught cedar smoked Alaskan salmon every now and then. However usually, I’ll serve issues like that plain. As a result of my rule of thumb is: the dearer an ingredient is, do much less with it.

However on a daily foundation, I prepare dinner with on a regular basis substances and truly thrive on arising with “connoisseur” and distinctive methods to decorate up unusual substances. Like ricotta. Your inventory normal, grocery store ricotta. 🙂

Made this for a brunch last weekend, I don't know why I don't make it more often!!! Everyone loves it and it's crazy easy to make :) FIVE STARS!!!

Lemon Garlic Baked Ricotta - an exciting new appetizer idea! Easy, fast gourmet.

The factor with this baked ricotta is that it’ll be higher in the event you make it with a contemporary Italian ricotta. However it’s nonetheless actually fabulous made with grocery store ricotta. Particularly as a result of I share my little tip for turning unusual ricotta into a complicated sort ricotta. 🙂

Baking the ricotta creates a stunning golden crust on the floor and it’s fantastically heat and creamy inside. (PS The higher the standard of the ricotta, the creamier). It spreads simply and is a dipping consistency too. I made this in two ramekins (effectively, tapas dishes) however you may make one massive one OR even make particular person ones to serve at a complicated feast (ooh, that concept simply popped in my head!).

Truthfully. How are you going to evaluate this baked ricotta with dolloping a lump of ricotta on a cheese board? I do know which one I’d go for…. 😉

So….one thing completely different in your subsequent occasion?

  • 2 medium garlic cloves , minced
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  4. Get to 1 cup capacity ramekins or any other oven proof dish (I used tapas dishes). Divide the ricotta between the dishes and drizzle over 1 tbsp olive oil (reserve other tbsp for after baking).
  5. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the top is lightly browned.
  6. Remove from oven, drizzle with remaining 1 tbsp olive oil then serve immediately with toasted pieces of bread (tip: rub lightly with garlic - it's amazing!).
  7. Fresh thyme, parsley or any other herbs, finely chopped (pictured)
  8. Chopped tomatoes, red onion and parsley (pictured)
  9. Finely chopped antipasto (eg olives, sun dried tomatoes)
