Hash Brown Crust Quiche Lorraine Recipe
A basic quiche lorraine with a hash brown crust! I wager your native brunch bistro doesn’t have this on their menu…..so how about having brunch at dwelling this weekend? You may keep in your PJ’s and low refills are free. AND this Hash Brown Crust Quiche has about 1/3 much less energy than conventional quiche – unintentionally!
It is a mash up of two of my favorite brunch dishes – hash brown and quiche!
“This tastes like a cross between a hash brown, quiche and potato dauphinoise gratin. Match made in heaven.”
It took me 5 makes an attempt till I used to be proud of this so I’ve been fanning out my makes an attempt to family and friends. I feel my sister described it greatest. She stated it’s like a “cross between a quiche, hash brown and potato dauphinoise gratin”. The perimeters are brown and crispy like a hash brown and the filling is a standard Quiche Lorraine filling with bacon, onion, cheese and egg. The bottom can be fabricated from hash browns so if you pour the filling in, the potato and egg combination meld collectively and turns gratin-like when it bakes.
“It’s unbelievable….this really has about 1/3 much less energy than the normal Quiche Lorraine!”
It smells and tastes wealthy and indulgent. However guess what? This really has much less energy than the normal Quiche Lorraine as a result of the hash brown crust has lower than half the energy of shortcrust pastry! It’s unbelievable isn’t it?? It’s as a result of shortcrust pastry is made with flour and butter which has much more energy than potato. The hash brown crust is made with 600g/1.2 lb of potatoes + 2 tbsp of butter which is 620 energy, whereas a standard shortcrust pastry has 2,100 energy. So a standard quiche lorraine has round 500 energy per serving whereas this Hash Brown Crust Quiche Lorraine has solely 310 energy.
This retains very well within the fridge and freezer, like a standard quiche. I extremely suggest reheating it within the oven so you can also make the sides crispy once more!
Have I satisfied you to remain in for brunch this weekend??
