D’s Famous Salsa Recipe

This salsa with canned tomatoes is a Texas recipe I’ve developed and refined over many years. It’s very fast and easy, and I usually have everything on hand. I often give it as gifts to my family back East.

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 16 servings

  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans stewed tomatoes

  • ½ onion, finely diced

  • ¼ cup canned sliced green chiles, or to taste

  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro

  • ½ lime, juiced

  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic

  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Place tomatoes, onion, green chiles, cilantro, lime juice, garlic, and salt in a blender or food processor. Blend on low to desired consistency.
