Chicken fajitas in the air fryer don’t get any better than this recipe. The chicken stays nice and moist, while the vegetables are crisp-tender. Serve with toppings of your choice, such as salsa, sliced avocado, and cheese.
Ingredients
1 medium red bell pepper, cut into thin strips
1 medium green bell pepper, cut into thin strips
1 large onion, sliced into petals
3 teaspoons olive oil, divided
salt and pepper to taste
1 pound chicken tenders, cut into strips
2 teaspoons fajita seasoning
8 (6 inch) flour tortillas, warmed
Directions
Preheat an air fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Place bell peppers and onion into a large bowl. Drizzle 2 teaspoons olive oil over top and season with salt and pepper. Stir until evenly combined.
Place chicken into a separate bowl and sprinkle with fajita seasoning. Drizzle with remaining 1 teaspoon olive oil and mix with your hands until evenly combined.
Add chicken to the air fryer basket and cook for 12 minutes, shaking halfway through. Transfer to a plate to let rest.
Add vegetable mixture to the air fryer basket and cook for 14 minutes, shaking halfway through.
Divide chicken and vegetable mixture among tortillas.
Cook’s Note
Add two minutes of cooking time in Step 5 if you prefer softer veggies.
I like to toast my tortillas in the air fryer as well, but it is not necessary.
